We are looking for a confident, highly motivated and proactive Booker/Researcher to join our team. As a writer/researcher for Mornings with Maria, you will be responsible for researching, writing and producing segments for a fast-paced daily show. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and want to contribute every day.

A snapshot of your responsibilities
• Book dynamic and high-profile guests
• Identify and present appropriate stories and guests for the show, hour by hour
• Prepare appropriate research for meetings with producers and broadcasters
• Conducting pre-interviews with guests
• Writing introductions, banners and handling guest segments, including research packages on a wide range of topics and their impact on the economy
• Respond quickly to breaking news during and after normal business hours
• Planning for expected future news events
• Suggest slides for social media
• Create production elements for scripts, including video and graphics
• Pitch story ideas for both today and future story ideas
• Writing introductions, banners and handling guest segments, including research packages on a wide range of topics and their impact on the economy
• Create production elements for scripts, including video and graphics
• Stay up to date on the major news of the day

What you will need
• 1+ years of experience in live television production
• Team player attitude combined with the ability to meet quick deadlines and react to rapid news developments
• Passionate and well-read about current events, especially business and politics
• Have a keen eye for interesting stories and trending news
• Ability to work night hours
• Experience booking in advance for at least one year
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Per state and local wage disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $54,000.00-$63,000.00 per year. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits according to applicable plan documents. Benefits to union-represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
