Welcome to Future Outreach Officer (Furness District) at the University of Cumbria

Funded by the Office for Students (OfS) Hello Future is a Uni Connect partnership, operating across Cumbria. The role of Outreach Officer at Hello Future is unique and involves supporting young people in Cumbria to make informed decisions about their next steps after school or college and towards bridging the gap between the most and least represented in higher education.
You will contribute to the delivery of agreed targeted and strategic outreach activity (including some attainment raising activities) within your assigned area. You will be responsible for working with specific groups of learners and developing and delivering interventions, alongside partnership members and wider stakeholders to create sustainable, high-impact collaborative outreach activity.
You will maintain excellent working relationships with schools, colleges, employers, partners and community groups within your area to ensure the program runs effectively, meeting agreed objectives and participant expectations. The partnership will serve as a point of contact. Therefore, your role will also be to share what is available locally and guide effective local outreach when working with young people and their influencers.
You will manage the Furness Graduate Intern program and will be responsible for managing student ambassadors deployed to support the activity. You will support evaluation, monitoring and data collection/tracking, working closely with the Hello Future Outreach and Evaluation Manager. You will also contribute to the delivery of Cumbria’s overall strategic plan.
This is a diverse role working with young people and their influencers in a variety of settings, using innovative and dynamic approaches to raise aspirations and support personal development.
This role is fixed term until 31st Julystreet 2026.
Mixed working arrangements can be supported for this role in line with business needs.
This role requires satisfactory approval by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at enhanced level.
