Vice President of Legal Counsel at CLEAR in New York, NY

We are looking for an experienced Vice President and Legal Counsel to help guide CLEAR’s growth segment as we expand into a myriad of opportunities in entertainment, travel, hospitality, financial services, aviation, healthcare, and more. You will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for providing legal advice to a variety of stakeholders in our rapidly growing organization.


What will you do:

  • Partner closely with business development teams and provide professional advice and guidance on deals, strategy, risk and scalable growth
  • Work directly with customers, vendors and partners to draft, negotiate and manage commercial agreements
  • Acting as a key advisor and will participate in decision making and development of business strategy with the aim of protecting the company’s assets and reputation
  • Stay ahead of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidelines
  • Work closely with product teams to advise on new features and business initiatives ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations
  • Demonstrate a keen ability to spot sensitive legal and business concerns and proactively propose solutions

How will you measure success:

  • Reduces the time required for CLEAR1 trade agreements, allowing deals to close faster and accelerate revenue recognition
  • You can reduce legal exposure by ensuring consistent compliance of CLEAR1 contracts with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards
  • Support favorable contract structures and scalable terms that enhance customer satisfaction, renewals and upsell opportunities, driving long-term growth for CLEAR1

What you are great at:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience – both in a law firm and within a firm
  • Adept problem solving with excellent legal and business judgment
  • Excellent writing, analysis and negotiation skills
  • Experience advising on product development is a plus

The base salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000, Depending on skill and experience levels.

The base salary range represents the lower and upper end of the CLEAR salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors including, but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one element of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees, and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commissions, and restricted stock units.
