The role

We are proud to announce the search for our next Deputy Vice-Chancellor, a highly influential role in our senior leadership team.

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Speyer, the Vice-Chancellor will work in partnership with other members of SLT to provide institutional leadership, ensuring the University’s strategic objectives are well defined and implemented. The role will ensure quality academic standards across education; Defining and ensuring the achievement of objectives in knowledge exchange and research activity; and ensuring the performance of the areas of Brand, Communications, Public Affairs and DARE (Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement). This role will also deputize for the Vice-Chancellor as required and will manage the Professional Vice-Chancellors for Education, Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation, the Director of DARE, and the Director of Brand, Communications and Public Affairs, alongside the Directors of the KERIs (Knowledge Exchange and Research Institutes).

The person

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor plays an important role in making strategic decisions. We are looking for individuals who perfectly align with our values: ambitious, inclusive, innovative and ambitious, and who have a proven track record of demonstrated senior leadership experience coupled with an academic background relevant to our university portfolio. You will have proven experience in achieving significant positive outcomes across teaching, learning, research, knowledge sharing and broader institutional priorities, and will be comfortable leading change and transformation. As a senior leader, you will not only embrace our values, but you will also lead and support our mission, vision, and behaviors for broader cultural change.
