Role overview

• Job title: Systems Analyst
• Level: medium to large
• Team: Competency Center SA; Works across domain tribes (Remittances & Payments, Platform Solutions, Card Processing, Mobile Apps, Web Shell, E-Commerce)
• Reports to: Head of SA Competence Center (Matrix); In the tribe for the delivery manager

Purpose: Translate business intent into clear, testable requirements and integration designs through close collaboration with developers, ensuring common understanding, readiness for high loads, and regulatory compliance.

You must have qualifications

• (Q1) Experience: 3+ years in IT as a Business Analyst and 1+ year as a Systems Analyst in multi-platform environments.
• (S2) Depth of Field: Hands-on experience in at least one domain (remittances and payments, accounting/ledger, card processing, KYC/AML, loans/deposits, e-commerce/payment gateways, or similar financial technology).
• (Q3) Modeling Proficiency: 3+ years of delivering technical work using UML/BPMN (Use Case/Sequence/State/Activity).
• (Q4) NFR Specifications: Clear ability to define SLOs (eg, p95 latency, throughput, rate limits, HA targets) and include them in stories.
• (Q5) Tools: Daily use of Jira, Confluence, draw.io, Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, SQL (SELECT/JOIN/window functions).
• (Q6) AI Adoption: Practical experience and active daily use of AI tools, models and assistants to enable personal performance and productivity.
• (Q7) Communication: English B2+ (spoken and written) to facilitate and document stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• (R1) Translate requirements into functional and non-functional specifications with unambiguous and testable acceptance criteria in Jira/Confluence using Gherkin where possible.
• (R2) Break down epics/features into appropriately sized user stories using DoR.
• (R3) Leverage AI assistants to draft/validate specifications, create test cases, analyze impact, and check documentation consistency.
• (R4) Model system behavior using UML/BPMN (use case, sequence, state and activity) for key flows across user actions, integrations and transactions using draw.io Or similar services, using AI tools to create schemas, validation, and consistency checks.
• (R5) Define APIs and contracts by producing OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, example payloads, and error models; Validation with Postman and virtual servers before development.
• (R6) Design cross-platform integrations (REST/gRPC/event streaming) with data mappings, failover, and retry/rollback; Document constraints (rate limits, p95 latency targets) using Kafka/RabbitMQ, JSON/Protobuf.
• (R7) Define non-functional requirements for performance, availability, security, and observability (e.g., p95 < 500 ms, 99.9% uptime, detection time < 5 minutes), and track them as explicit stories in Jira.
• (R8) Ensure regulatory compliance by setting PSD2, PCI DSS, AML/KYC, GDPR, DAC, SEPA and SWIFT CSP/OpenBanking
• (R9) Maintain documentation quality by keeping Swagger, Confluence, and data dictionaries consistent.
• (R10) Drive delivery through improvement, planning and estimation; Facilitating workshops, clarifying evolving cases, and unblocking teams;

It’s nice to have qualifications

• (N1) Payment standards: ISO 20022, SEPA Instant, SWIFT MT/MX.
• (N2) Compliance Translation: Hands-on experience mapping PSD2, GDPR, AML, KYC or PCI-DSS controls to system behaviour.
• (N3) Cards & Security: Schema integration (Visa/Mastercard), PCI DSS audit support experience.
• (N4) Architecture Literacy: Working with microservices, modular monoliths, and patterns such as CQRS/event sourcing.
• (N5) API Design and Integration: 1+ year of end-to-end integration via REST/gRPC/event streaming using OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman; Familiarity with Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• (N6) Observability: Use Graylog/Grafana/Sentry to support troubleshooting and identify log/metric needs.
• (N7) Data Modeling: ER modeling and SQL performance tuning for analytical queries.
• (N8) Certifications: IREB, IIBA, ISTQB, BPMN 2.0 Practitioner, or Data Modeling/ERD (completed or in progress).

Terms of work and contract information

• (W1) Recruitment Type: B2B; Contract duration is 1+ years with 3-6 Months of testing.
• (W2) Location/arrangement: remote or hybrid; Candidates within ±3 hours of Central European Time.
• (W3) Base Hours/Time Zone: Collaboration overlaps during CET business hours (at least 4 hours per day).
• (W4) Start date: ASAP.
• (W5) Compensation: €23 – €30/hour gross, depending on qualifications.
• (W6) Interview process: 2-3 Steps plus a test task (case-based specification exercise).
