Medical Education Facilitator at the University of Worcester
Location: Severn Campus
- Working hours per week: 14.8
We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Education Coordinator to join our Integrated Clinical Methods (ICM) team and support the delivery of the graduate MBChB program at the Tri-County Medical School (TCMS) at the University of Worcester.
TCMS opened in September 2023 with the aim of expanding access to medicine and retaining graduates in the local area. Our curriculum is built around problem-based learning (PBL), with early patient contact and clinical placements at its core. The ICM team plays a key role in developing students’ communication and clinical examination skills.
In this role, you will facilitate small group ICM sessions to help students develop counseling and clinical skills, work closely with colleagues to design cases, learning resources, and assessment materials, and play an active role in assessment, including Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs). You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the MBChB curriculum.
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in medical education and training, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to support self-directed learners. Ideally, you will have experience teaching medical students or similar, but enthusiasm and desire to develop as a teacher are key. Flexibility and a collaborative approach are essential to meet the needs of a dynamic curriculum.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative medical school with a strong social mission. You will have access to professional development opportunities and work within a supportive, forward-looking team to shape the future of medical education.
This is a part-time role that requires availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
