City of Burnaby Food Services is actively looking for a Food Services Leader to work as part of their kitchen team. If you want to be part of a winning team that is passionate about the work they do, this is the job for you!


Responsibilities for this position include supervision, food and menu preparation, and related administrative work. The Head of Food Services supervises:

  • Prepare a moderate selection of menu items and operate the concession area.
  • Plan, assign and supervise staff and perform clerical and related maintenance work during major events.
  • Staffing, scheduling and inventory control of food products.

Completion of high school is required supplemented with courses in food handling and preparation (e.g. FoodSafe), along with sound knowledge of relevant health codes and regulations and supervisory experience. You have experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant, and have the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Payment rate: $25.22 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits

working hours: This is an associate position, hours and shifts can vary depending on operational requirements and are scheduled on an as needed basis. Shifts may be up to 8 hours long, starting as early as 6:00 a.m. and ending until 2:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday, 4-5 days per week. Shifts can be scheduled on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Locations: Riverway Club, Burnaby Mountain Club and Mintara.
