salary: Research Score 8: 49,119 – 58,265 with an estimated range of 65,336 Pa (proportional). This includes the Oxford University pension weight of 1,730 per annum (pro rata).

We are seeking a Head of Pharmacometrics to join the Wellcome Trust Mahidol University of Oxford (MORU) Tropical Medicine Research Programme, a world-leading partnership conducting research into infectious diseases of global importance. This position is based at the Mahidol Oxford Research Unit (MORU) of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, and provides an exciting opportunity to lead an interdisciplinary research team in the field of pharmacometrics at the forefront of tropical medicine and infectious disease research.

The MORU Tropical Health Network conducts clinical and public health research aimed at developing practical and affordable interventions to improve health in resource-limited settings. The Pharmacology Group within MORU performs translational and clinical pharmacology studies, especially pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling of anti-infective drugs, in collaboration with research teams across Asia and Africa.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the Pharmacometrics research group, ensuring the successful implementation of its research projects and deliverables. This includes developing PK/PD models using clinical and preclinical data, supporting clinical trial analyses, and developing new pharmacometric methods. You will guide and mentor team members, oversee study design and timelines, contribute to scientific publications and grant applications, and present results to MORU leadership and collaborators. It will also promote international collaboration, strengthen partnerships within the MORU network, and help train the next generation of pharmacometricians and clinical pharmacologists.

It is essential that you hold a PhD/PhD in a relevant discipline, have post-doctoral research experience, and have a proven track record of leadership in managing interdisciplinary research teams. You should have extensive experience in nonlinear mixed-effects modeling (PK/PD modeling) and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Experience developing independent research projects, securing research funding, and communicating complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences is essential. You will need excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a commitment to working collaboratively within an international, multicultural environment. Willingness to provide training and support to colleagues and students is also key to this role.
