Who are you:

Galaxy is hiring two Data Engineers – one Associate (3+ years of experience) and one Vice President (7+ years of experience).

Working as part of a data engineering team, you are an expert in data routing and big data processing frameworks, have experience working with various backend technologies (Python, Go, Java) and have detailed working knowledge of core software engineering concepts, such as garbage collection, asynchronous processing, and data structures. You have experience building high-throughput, low-latency streaming pipelines using message queues. You are also familiar with building application deployments, including unit testing, integration testing, and deployment to the cloud provider (EC2, Kubernetes). You are curious to learn new technologies and expand your experience across business lines and technology stacks.

As a member of the team, you will also resolve production support issues and participate in improvements to CI/CD automation and DevOps. Knowledge of the following is an advantage:

What will you do:

Work across all of Galaxy’s diverse business lines (e.g., trading, custody, asset management, mining) to optimize and unify the company’s data backbone.

What we are looking for:

• More than 3 years of professional experience working in software development
• Experience building data pipelines, APIs, and reporting tools
• Strong knowledge of data structures, their applications, and optimization techniques
• University degree in computer science, physics, engineering, or equivalent programming experience

Bonus points:

• Experience in dependency injection frameworks, ideally: Spring, Guice, HK2
• Experience with Docker
• Develop the full life cycle of a commercial system, including: requirements definition, agile planning, release, and production support
• Experience in crypto or finance
• Experience building ML models

The basic salary ranges listed below will suit the candidate’s experience, expertise and local market. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including the candidate’s experience and expertise. At Galaxy, we maintain a total compensation philosophy consisting of a competitive base salary, annual bonus and stock incentives.

Base salary range $140,000 – $200,000
