Events and Business Support Officer at the University of Sunderland in London
Contract: Fixed term, maternity cover until 30 November 2026

The University of Sunderland in London, based in Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves an innovative and constantly evolving campus and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day work week, allowing our colleagues to work 32 hours, 4 days a week without any pay reduction. The pilot program is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive, inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally while maintaining our commitment to providing high-quality service to all of our students.
In addition, we have moved to a modern campus building, which provides a bright and spacious learning and working environment.
About the role
You will make a real impact at the University of Sunderland in London as an Events and Business Support Officer. In this diverse hands-on role, you will help shape memorable and meaningful experiences for students, staff and visitors by supporting events as well as managing day-to-day campus operations. If you are organised, proactive and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity for you.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong mix of organisational, interpersonal and practical skills. Experience in event planning and execution and office management support is essential. You will need to be confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships between teams. A proactive approach to problem solving is key, along with an understanding of health and safety in event settings.
