SEIU Local 105 is a growing union that represents more than 7,000 health care and real estate services workers in Colorado, but is concentrated in the Denver metro area.

About the position
- Immediate hiring,
- Dedicated Director of SEIU Local Support based in Denver, Colorado.
Main job responsibilities:
- Working with key elected union leaders and staff to create a structure that will allow us to mobilize a massive army of workers across Colorado to create an active, educated, grassroots membership structure
- Linking the concepts and theories of training content to real work and the organization’s mission
- Leadership in developing training programs that focus on developing and engaging member leaders specifically for supervisors, communications team members, and activists in addition to other leadership roles within the union.
- Support staff development in developing member leaders
- Track daily, weekly and monthly numbers reports regarding member strength goals and programs at the local level
- Create and facilitate trainings, including job site mobilization, recruitment, and contract campaign mobilization, among others.
- Performing other duties assigned by the Chief of Staff
Job requirements
- – At least five (5) years of experience in work organization
- Experience identifying, recruiting and developing leaders
- Bilingual ability to speak and write in English and Spanish is required
- Teaching/training experience with staff or relevant degree
- Proficiency in understanding and analyzing information and terminology for inclusion in training materials (webinars, zoom, purple text messaging, virtual learning modules, on-site paper based modules, etc.)
- – Demonstrate the ability to prioritize work and complete it to completion without close supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of personalities under pressure
- The ability to evaluate the quality of training materials and their applicability
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
- Commitment to the labor movement and a strong work ethic
- Jobs with a high level of integrity, transparency, and the ability to give and receive feedback
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Candidates must have strong emotional intelligence and a commitment to their own growth and development and the growth of others
- Sound judgment, including in very complex situations
- Experience tracking, evaluating and developing the skill sets of members and staff
- Fluency in using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, VAN as well as web conferencing and collaboration software is required
- A valid driver’s license, car and insurance
Salary and benefits
- Salary ranges from $100,000 to $116,000 based on experience.
- Monthly car allowance is $515
- SEIU Local 105 employees receive 100% employer-paid premiums for benefits including comprehensive health, dental, and vision for the employee, their spouse, domestic partner, and other qualifying dependents. Accident, disability/life, short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided at no cost to employees. In addition, employees enjoy generous paid vacations and holidays as well as a fully employee-entitled retirement plan after 3 years that provides a good, defined benefit pension with no employee contribution allowing our employees to retire with respect and dignity. The generous benefits package paid to our employers amounts to approximately 40% of an employee’s salary.
