summary:

The Commercial and Legal Director will be part of a team dealing with all matters relating to the global television distribution business (including negotiating, advising on and documenting content licensing/distribution agreements with clients worldwide and handling the distribution aspects of commissioning, co-production and co-financing transactions and arrangements).

Responsibilities
• Drafting and negotiating contracts, including primarily agreements for licensing film and television content to television customers and “digital media”/“new media” customers worldwide in various media (including free/basic/pay linear TV, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, EST and other developing media).
• Advise and coordinate with sales and marketing liaison executives, technology experts and administrative staff to identify and resolve business and legal issues (including issues related to contract interpretation) and provide ongoing advice, counsel and support.
• Providing oversight of general legal and business practices and standards and supervising certain judicial matters.
• Provide oversight of regulatory and other legal compliance matters related to content distribution.
• Direct other special projects and perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Basic requirements
• Must have a JD from a first-class law school.
• 3 years of professional experience in a major law firm or within the company.
• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar or other U.S. bar association.

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as part of a cohesive team.
• Clear initiative. Self-starter and responsible.
• Demonstrate the ability to assume greater responsibility as circumstances dictate.
• Previous experience in entertainment product licensing is a plus.

Hybrid: This position is classified as hybrid, which currently requires contributions from the office a minimum of three days per week. Starting January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office at least four days a week. The Company reserves the right to change internal requirements at any time.

Salary Range: $140,000 – $170,000 (bonus and long-term incentives eligible)
