Deputy Head of the Advice Service (1FTE) at the London School of Economics and Political Science

Salary £53,949 to £62,160 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 per annum including London Allowance.

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the world’s leading social sciences universities, with a global reach and reception of international students. The LSE Student Wellbeing Service would like to appoint a Deputy Head of Counseling Service to help co-lead the provision of short-term counseling for students and staff. The Vice President of Counseling Service will support the Head of Counseling Service in implementing the overall strategic objective of the Counseling Service. They will be involved in the leadership, development, organization and management of the advice service. The mail carrier will also carry a small number of customers.

Applicants will have significant demonstrable experience managing and delivering counseling services. Applicants will have an understanding of college advising and its associated challenges. Applicants will have demonstrable experience providing solution-focused consulting and will be skilled in working with a wide range of clients and presenting problems.

Candidates must meet the essential criteria listed in the person specification including full BACP/UKCP/BPS/NCPS accreditation/registration. Applicants who do not meet professional accreditation/registration requirements will not be considered for this position.

This position will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Any offer of employment made is conditional on the receipt of a satisfactory DBS check.
