Salary £53,949 to £62,160 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 per annum inclusive

The Department of Mathematics is a medium-sized department at the LSE with renowned research strengths in mathematics relevant to the social sciences, large undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and offers a number of significant service courses to the School. The Department is seeking to appoint a senior, experienced and highly motivated individual to lead and manage the Career Services staff team and be a key interface between the Department and a wide range of academic and administrative staff across the School.

Working closely with the Head of Department, the post holder will ensure the effective management of the human, financial and material resources of the department and will play a key role in its strategic development. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the department’s Professional Services team and will oversee the delivery of its program portfolio.

Applicants must have an education to degree level (or equivalent), significant management experience, preferably in tertiary education, and a high degree of computer literacy. Along with experience in effective resource management, the successful candidate will have strong strategic planning and organizational skills and will be able to lead, motivate and support the team to ensure the highest standards of service delivery. They will be problem solvers, excellent communicators, and will be able to develop a wide range of professional networks.
