Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, Michigan Technological University
The College of Computing at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a faculty position in cybersecurity. Primary consideration will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, although candidates with appropriate experience and accomplishments may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor. We encourage applicants with experience in security, privacy, security machine learning, cloud security, cryptography, data integrity, information governance, risk management, penetration testing and auditing, digital forensics, cyber-physical systems security, and related fields. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research and a commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Expected start date is August 2026.
Founded in 2019, Michigan Tech’s College of Computers It is the first and largest computing-focused college in Michigan. The college is going through a period of rapid growth and investment, including new faculty positions, new academic programs, and planning for a new building. Since 2019, college enrollment has increased by two-thirds, and research expenditures have tripled. The college is organized into two departments, the Department of Applied Computing and Department of Computer Science. Many academic programs are supported collaboratively by faculty across these departments. This position is located within the Department of Applied Computing, with the potential, if appropriate, for a joint minority appointment in the Department of Computer Science. Successful candidates will also be supported by the university Institute of Computing and Cyber ​​Systems (ICC).
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, information systems, or a closely related discipline at the time of recruitment.
