This is an opportunity to join one of the world’s most prominent and research-active statistics departments at the Assistant Professor level.
The department’s research covers a wide range of areas in applied, computational, methodological and theoretical statistics, data science, theoretical and applied probability, mathematical finance and interdisciplinary collaboration. Its educational programs attract outstanding students at all levels. It has approximately 800 undergraduate students on courses in MORSE, Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science and 150 graduate students on MSc Statistics, MSc Mathematical Finance and PhD programmes. Key strategic initiatives include the CRiSM Research Centre, which acts as a catalyst for research across the Department’s scope, the Applied Statistics and Risk Unit (AS&RU), which encourages and coordinates external partnerships, and the National Academy for Doctoral Training in Statistics (APTS).
The Department has close links with the co-located Institute of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Science and with other departments such as Economics and Warwick Business School and collaborates strongly with the Alan Turing Institute in London. The newly established Warwick Center for Applications of Mathematical and Computing Sciences (CAMaCS) is a joint initiative with Mathematics and Computer Science designed to connect Warwick’s world-leading departmental research with external partners and deliver benefits to society through impact.

About you
We are looking for a researcher with a proven and promising track record in sports finance. The successful candidate will be expected to provide excellent teaching and student project supervision in mathematical finance, probability, statistics and related fields. Other positive indicators include enthusiasm for engagement with other disciplines, within and outside the department.
