Doha University of Science and Technology was officially established pursuant to Emiri Resolution No. 13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in applied academic, technical and vocational education in the State of Qatar. UDST has more than 70 bachelor’s, master’s, diploma and certificate programs. The university includes 5 colleges: the College of Business, the College of Computers and Information Technology, the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Health Sciences, and the College of General Education, in addition to specialized training centers for individuals and companies. The College of General Education provides a set of common core courses for all university students, in subject areas that support the academic structure of the undergraduate programmes. The general education curriculum is designed around courses in mathematics, natural sciences, research methods, English communication, social sciences, humanities, and the arts, with the goal of developing students’ understanding of basic scientific concepts and their applications.

Responsibilities
Your commitment
The College of Chemistry will focus on providing high-quality education across the College of General Education curriculum and promoting a positive learning environment to support all UDST academic programs. The role includes teaching first-year undergraduate chemistry courses, some advanced chemistry courses, and science electives to support programs within the institution and college. Additional responsibilities include developing curriculum, supporting students’ academic progress, and conducting independent research. Preference will be given to candidates whose educational profile and research plan best prepares them for an interdisciplinary role in the Department of Science.
Qualifications
Education and experience requirements
education
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from an accredited institution is required.
- It is preferable to obtain a graduate degree in educational teaching methods or its equivalent
expertise
- Ideally, a minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience in higher education institutions is required
- A range of recent relevant academic and/or professional experience may be considered an asset
Teaching and learning
- Commitment to UDST’s mandate of excellence in applied and experiential teaching and learning methods
- Demonstrate fluent ability to design and deliver learning materials across a range of courses using student-centred strategies with appropriate learning support
- Commitment to creating and evaluating authentic assessment tools that validly and reliably measure mastery of course learning outcomes while promoting lifelong learning
- Demonstrate the ability to develop technology-rich learning environments that enable students to be active participants in their education.
- Digital literacy and demonstrated fluency in UDST’s learning management system and ability to design and facilitate use of existing and emerging digital platforms committed to student learning and feedback
- Manage learning environment resources, including print, electronic, university, and community resources, student success strategies, and course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes.
