This position is responsible for driving, operating and light servicing a Tandem dump truck with trailer, in accordance with Class 1 regulations and performing routine construction and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Some typical duties include loading, locating, moving and unloading materials, tools and equipment under various traffic and road conditions; Complete equipment inspections including checking oil, fuel levels, tires, lubrication and safety operations.
• Additional duties include driving a city vehicle to and from work sites and assisting crew members in performing their duties.
• Must have knowledge of heavy trucks, various equipment and attachments; Operate a tandem dump truck with an air braked trailer and have the ability to load, unload and secure equipment to and from trailers.

Qualifications

• I completed grade 12
• Driving experience on trucks equipped with air brakes and trailers
• Extensive driving experience with flatbed equipment trailers and gravel dump trailers.
• Must hold a valid Class 1 BC driver’s license with air endorsement and safe driving record.
