Position summary

Our Portland and Seattle offices have an exciting opportunity for an Associate with 5+ years of experience to join the firm’s expanding practice. The Associate will focus primarily on traditional labor matters, including but not limited to union organizing campaigns; Coaching and advising clients on traditional business issues; Assisting in grievance arbitration and collective bargaining; unfair labor practices charges; National Labor Relations Board prosecutions; and policy formulation.

Ogletree’s offices in Portland and Seattle have one of the most dynamic labor and staffing practices in the Pacific Northwest and are expanding to meet client demands and prepare for future growth. Remote work is available to non-shareholder attorneys residing outside of Seattle and Portland, including attorneys located in California, provided they hold an active license to practice law in Oregon or Washington.

requirements

  • Doctor of Laws. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law and in good standing and remain so in Oregon or Washington. However, very strong candidates who are interested in moving to the Pacific Northwest and who are licensed to practice law in other states will also be considered. While working, you must meet continuing licensing requirements to practice law.
  • Candidates must have at least 5 years of traditional work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills are required.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills are required.
  • Outstanding academic qualifications (top 25% of class) are preferred.

According to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary for this position in Colorado ranges between $185,000 and $220,000. According to the New York State Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position in New York State is between $230,000 and $275,000. According to the California Revised Labor Code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this position in California is between $205,000 and $275,000. According to the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected salary for this position in Washington ranges between $185,000 and $220,000. According to the Omnibus Pay Transparency Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $205,000 and $250,000. According to Maryland’s Equal Pay for Employment and Equal Pay Act, the expected salary range for this position in Baltimore is $205,000 – $250,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position is eligible for the benefits below.
