Crossbeam helps companies partner with each other in a more data-driven way by acting as a data escrow service. Our platform allows businesses to find customers and prospects who overlap with their partners while keeping the rest of their data private and secure.

With this big idea comes some fun and unique technical challenges. We’re like a social network of data warehouses, so the data gets big and our results have to show up quickly; We need to reliably find “matches” between datasets originating from different systems; We need our users to love the experience and get real value every step of the way; Security and trust are crucial. There’s more where that came from.

You will join a small but growing team of experienced engineers to take our program from early success to enterprise scale. This is an opportunity to truly impact and contribute meaningfully to our products and engineering practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Features and improvements are constantly being shipped with guidance from other team members.
  • Work alongside other team members to create, test, and deploy functional code.
  • Work with our other engineers to create robust back-end code.
  • Partner with product management, design, and customer success teams to iterate on features and improvements.
  • Prioritize support issues reported by users and/or our Customer Success team, help identify areas of improvement in the code base and contribute to its improvement.
  • Engage in learning and collaboration with your team members.
  • Help create an environment where you can ask and ask questions that will improve the team as a whole.
  • Work closely with more junior developers to enhance UI practice across the Crossbeam Engineering team.

These are some of your traits:

  • You have at least four (4) years of professional experience in an engineering team.
  • You are passionate about writing code in Clojure and/or Vue (our stack).
  • You have experience writing simple and effective backend code.
  • You have an understanding of modern front-end frameworks, REST APIs, and how they interact with back-end code.
  • You have an understanding of interacting with databases: preferably relational (preferably Postgres or MySQL, but Mongo and other NoSQL databases work too).
  • You have experience using cloud technologies (ideally AWS, but Azure etc. are acceptable).
  • You have experience in building distributed systems using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.
  • You believe in the importance of creating a space for people with different backgrounds and viewpoints to share their opinions in a respectful environment.
  • You embrace complex technical challenges and thrive on discovering simple solutions.
  • You’re not afraid to speak up when you have a point of view, but you can “disagree and abide” once you’ve reached a final decision.
  • You have an unparalleled work ethic and are excited to learn from the team around you.
  • You have experience working remotely as part of a larger team.

*Colorado residents: Yes minimum Salary of $140,000 plus equity and benefits for this position. How we work

This role can be based anywhere in the United States.

Crossbeam has always been committed to building a remote work culture, even before the pandemic. We have a corporate footprint in the Philadelphia area and team members are distributed across the country. The majority of our collaborative work takes place on Slack and Zoom.

When travel becomes comfortable again, we will celebrate with non-mandatory off-site bands and events several times a year.
