We are looking for a Senior Product Designerr to lead the evolution of our platform as we scale our multi-product ecosystem. This role is open to candidates near one of our centers (Burnaby, Calgary or Toronto). We work in the office at least two days a week on designated installation days to stay connected and collaborate.
What your team does:
Design plays a fundamental role at Clio, forming one of the three pillars of our R&D organization alongside product management and engineering. Product designers are directly involved in researching the behaviors and needs of our users. They are user experience champions as we work to change the way lawyers and their staff deliver services to their clients. The platform team works on very large and complex projects to help improve cross-product experiences for our customers. Our mission as the platform team is to design and build unified experiences, create frameworks and tools, and help our product teams deliver value to our customers faster through our platform infrastructure.
What you will work on
- Join a diversely skilled design team using modern design tools
- Work together with product management and engineering to understand and find the right solutions to solve
- Be responsible for achieving a balance between speed and quality
- Advocating for our clients with their knowledge and needs from the inside out
- Develop and design high-fidelity concepts, prototypes and mockups and deliver solutions that solve business and user problems and deliver measurable results
- Be able to articulate the rationale behind your design decisions, and be able to ask tough questions and challenge assumptions
- Train and mentor fellow designers on a range of design practices
- Provide thoughtful feedback in team critiques
- Break complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts
- Writing research plans, conducting user research interviews, usability testing and analysis
- Leverage product data and metrics to drive design decisions and measure product success
- Be able to adapt your process to the needs of the situation
What will you bring?
- Excellent communication skills
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or related specialty. SaaS experience is a bonus
- Experience as an interaction designer with product experience. SaaS experience is a bonus
- Proven track record of successfully shipping products, resolving customer issues, and communicating company metrics
- Deep understanding of good user experience, internal auditing and visual design
- Experience using modern design tools (Figma) and willingness to adopt new tools as needed
- Strong understanding of web technologies
- Design degree or relevant experience with platform and/or application design
- Humility plus strong opinions that are loosely held

The full salary range* for this role is $128,400 to $151,000 to $173,600 CAD. Please note that salary ranges may vary based on location and local currency. Additionally, benefit offerings may vary depending on the employee’s location.
*We aim to hire all candidates between the low end and midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the high end of the salary range for internal employees who demonstrate high performance and continued impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will depend on the individual experience and skill set of the candidate. Please note that there is a separate set of salary ranges for other regions based on the local currency.
