The Senior Planning and Performance Consultant supports the realization of the strategic vision for corporate planning and analysis within the company and implements measurements and reporting mechanisms to demonstrate the company’s fulfillment of its mandate and to ensure reliable program accountability.
This role requires a highly organized, client-focused individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to apply effective judgment and manage multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
Hybrid business model
This position is located in our office in Victoria, British Columbia. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on campus and part of the time off campus. Office presence guidelines and requirements are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.

Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive business planning program in line with strategic priorities and associated deliverables and translate those priorities into key actions and measures that move the company forward in achieving its strategic plans.
- Directs and supports the alignment of the integrated business planning culture across the company.
- Manages and advises in providing assistance and consultation to executives, management and employees in planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management and business case development.
- Ensures the preparation of strategic plans, business plans, program business cases, performance measures, goals, budgets, monthly and quarterly performance, and financial analysis.
- Works with executives, management and employees to develop and maintain results, including data analysis, business cases, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, business and financial models, budgets and forecasts, alternative analysis modeling, business planning, fund allocation, and enabling identification of individual contributions toward company goals.
- Assists with business continuity plans for validation and quality assurance purposes, and integration into enterprise-wide plans.
- Assists in business continuity and disaster recovery exercises to verify critical system recovery and validate recovery procedures.
- Ensures effective communication and develops content for a wide range of documents and reports for presentation to executives, management, employees and other key stakeholders.
- Leads the preparation of executive and board briefing materials for budgets, forecasting, performance and business cases.
- Ensures that managers receive monthly and quarterly financial and performance reports.
- Supervises employees including assigning work, developing and evaluating performance plans, approving leave, and responding to potential disciplinary processes.
- Leads or supervises a variety of corporate initiatives related to planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management.
Qualifications
It must be
- – University degree in a relevant discipline, such as a Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in corporate planning, performance measurement, budgeting and financial management.
- Experience developing business plans, key performance metrics and presenting performance.
- Experience preparing and presenting materials for delivery to executive and management audiences.
- Experience analyzing data and creating reports to enable structured decision making.
- Experience leading, coaching, providing support and/or mentoring.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered.
Nice to have:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent graduate program preferred.
- Experience using Oracle Fusion preferred.
- Experience supervising employees is preferred, including developing performance plans, conducting regular check-ins, and setting priorities.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Strong analytical skills and proven ability to help people make sense of complex data.
- Ability to apply effective judgment and excellent organizational skills in managing multiple priorities in a constantly changing environment.
- Forward thinking, problem identification and problem solving abilities, including strong financial analysis abilities; Ability to apply sound judgment regarding company, branch and team goals and objectives; Ability to develop complex computerized spreadsheets for analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrate a customer service approach with all internal and external customers.
- Planning and organizational capacity. Must be able to plan work and resources for multiple operational and other projects with tight and often conflicting time frames and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others and work in a changing environment.
- A strong communicator, negotiator and facilitator, you build relationships with internal stakeholders to enable highly integrated planning across departments.
