your Senior Front End EngineerYou will be responsible for the proper technical implementation of web projects Map Tools Team. This team does construction and maintenance rangeour geo-visualization platform, along with curation tools that support our mapping team and external partners like Marketplace, Customer Care & Support, and Finance.

These projects will require close collaboration with product managers, product designers, data scientists, and other engineering teams. You will be undertaking several exciting projects simultaneously, so the ability to juggle these initiatives is key. We also count on you to be a champion of front-end best practices, guiding engineers, designers, and management along the way.

Please note that this role also includes participating in on-call rotations to ensure platform stability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and direction to projects, helping define the roadmap, architecture, processes, and best practices for the team.
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable and maintainable code. Leave the code in a better state than when you found it (incremental refactoring).
• Conduct thoughtful code reviews for colleagues to ensure code quality and knowledge distribution.
• Unblock, support and communicate effectively across functions in order to drive results.
• Evangelize appropriate technical and engineering best practices, and occasionally conduct internal or external technical talks.
• Participate in hiring activities: Participate in technical interviews, live coding, and share detailed feedback to hire the best tech talent for the job.
• Act as a mentor to other developers on the team.

expertise:

• You must have 5+ years of experience in the software engineering industry.
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams on architecture, best practices, and complex problem solving.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
• Experience working with React/Next.js.
• Experience working with NodeJS and Express applications
• Experience working with design systems (e.g. Bootstrap, Salesforce Lightning, GitHub Primer).
• Experience in unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product and design.
• Good understanding of web performance and how browsers and the DOM work.
• Experience with SQL is a big plus.
