Ribo-Code BBSRC sLoLa Project Lead at the University of Leeds

This role will be campus based with the potential to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discuss flexible working arrangements.

Do you want to be part of an exciting team project? Do you want to enable scientists to conduct cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research? Are you passionate about project management, positive research culture, scientific communication and electronic data interchange?

The Project Officer will be responsible for coordinating the project and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the program as well as its future development, including coordinating collaborative work, and assisting with future funding applications. For example, this will include (1) organizing meetings/preparing reports and facilitating research; (2) coordinate external advocacy (e.g. with the Advisory Board) and public engagement activities; (3) Ensure efficient use of resources, budget updates, and data storage systems are in place.

This position is ideally suited to organized and highly motivated individuals with a background in biomedical sciences who wish to develop their careers in research program management. As the project involves close collaboration between academics at 3 universities, a Scientific Advisory Board and approximately 16 researchers, the post holder must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of the issues involved in conducting collaborative research. You must have a degree level qualification in science, engineering, business or project management. You must also have a proven track record in managing similar academic projects, with demonstrable project management skills, including strong analytical, creative and problem-solving skills.
