Employment Type: Full-time Job Description: We are looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience to join our client’s team. The role is fully remote to start, with the possibility of relocating to Dublin, Ohio in the future. The ideal candidate will have extensive backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot, along with hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform. Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain scalable back-end Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture. Build and improve APIs and services with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Work with Google Cloud Platform services such as: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to deploy applications in containers. Cloud Run / App Engine for managed and serverless environments. Cloud Pub/Sub for messaging and event-based systems. BigQuery/Cloud SQL/Firestore for data storage and analytics. Cloud storage for file/object management. Implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, or similar tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product Owners) to ensure smooth delivery. Follow best practices in cloud security, performance optimization, and cost management on Google Cloud Platform. Required Skills and Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot. Proven experience building microservices and RESTful APIs. Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including GKE, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL. Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud native deployments. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Excellent communication and willingness to relocate to Columbus, Ohio when needed.
