Your turn

As Executive Director, you will lead Wilderness International Canada with vision, integrity and passion for protecting wildlife. You will oversee strategy and operations while ensuring strong collaboration with our partners in Germany and Peru. This leadership role combines organizational management, fundraising, corporate partnerships, community engagement, and advocacy. You will serve as an ambassador for Wilderness International Canada and help shape its future growth and impact.

Key responsibilities

Leadership and strategy

  • Providing overall leadership and direction in line with global goals.
  • Represent Wilderness International Canada publicly with partners, government and the media.
  • Collaborate with sister organizations in Germany and Peru to ensure compatibility and shared impact.

Preservation and advocacy

  • Leading conservation projects in Canada and sharing knowledge internationally.
  • Advocate for policies, partnerships and actions that protect wildlife.

Partnerships and fundraising

  • Building and expanding long-term strategic institutional partnerships that align with sustainability and conservation goals.
  • Cooperating, nurturing and supporting existing and new partnerships.
  • Develop creative collaboration concepts that enable partners to communicate their sustainability commitments transparently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to highlight partnerships and increase visibility in the corporate sector.
  • Helping the Board of Directors ensure financial sustainability through grants, sponsorships, and various funding sources.

Community participation and communication

  • Building relationships with indigenous communities, donors and stakeholders.
  • Oversee communications, events and outreach to promote community engagement.
  • Representing the organization in conferences, events and public forums.

Organizational management

  • Supervising financial management, budgeting and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and governance requirements.
  • Support team growth and cross-functional collaboration across international teams (Canada, Germany, Peru).

Your skills and experience

  • 4+ years of leadership/management in a non-profit, conservation, or related field.
  • Proven success in fundraising, donor relations, and corporate partnerships.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Intercultural competence and ability to work with diverse communities.
  • A passion for wilderness protection and sustainability.
