Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a third-year associate in our Intellectual Property and Technology practice in our San Francisco office. GT is always among the best companies in the world I am the law Global 100; The partner will have the opportunity to work with clients, large and small, from a variety of industries across the country and will focus on technology, cyber law, cryptocurrency, privacy, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation. The fellow will work on the following types of matters:

  • Internet law litigation related to consumer protection laws and legislation;

  • Complex commercial litigation matters involving crypto/blockchain companies, startups, venture capital funds, and other technology companies and organizations, including founder disputes, token disputes, investigations, and enforcement actions from the SEC, CFTC, and Department of Justice, as well as state agencies and attorneys general;

  • Privacy and data security matters, including incident response, commercial litigation arising from the incidents, and data breach class actions under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), and the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), as well as cases involving fraud statute Computer Abuse (CFAA);

  • Intellectual property matters including trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks and patents, as well as enforcement related to misuse of online platforms;

  • litigation matters involving artificial intelligence technology, including copyright, product liability theories, and U.S. and international data collection issues; and

  • Expression technology litigation matters, including issues related to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and defamation.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must have three years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience at a medium to large law firm, along with experience drafting pleadings and briefs, conducting research, and managing discovery. Candidates should have some experience and interest in the areas of technology, cyber law, defamation, cryptocurrency, privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation. Experience managing internal litigation for a technology company is a plus.

Qualified candidates will have strong academic performance in law school, strong interpersonal skills, writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire and initiative to “take ownership” of the work and profession. Candidates must be in good standing with the CA Bar.

The expected salary range for this position is:

$235,000 – $260,000 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus, health insurance with optional HSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts, 401k, vacation, sick time, and employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include: Voluntary Accident Insurance, Voluntary Life, Voluntary Disability, Voluntary Long Term Care, Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance, Voluntary Cancer Insurance, and Voluntary Pet Insurance. Commuter and transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
