Our Healthcare Operations Department is looking for a Technical rules analyst To coordinate the development and implementation of work rules that drive our automated claims adjudication engine that ensures correct health care payments for services provided to injured workers.

In this role, you will serve as a bridge between the business side and the technical side of our claims management system, translating business policies into formal specifications for the development and operation of our healthcare technical systems.

This opportunity is temporary for 12 months.

How you will make a difference: You will help protect the financial health of BC’s workers’ compensation system, ensuring that we serve British Columbians now and into the future.

Where will you work?

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines remote and in-office work based on the operational needs of the job.

For this position, the successful candidate will be required to work two days per week in our Richmond office.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain rules, based on business requirements, that drive automated claims adjudication
  • Lead cross-departmental working committees to review and implement rule changes
  • – Develop a communication strategy to distribute information to support change and updates to the claims management system
  • Provide input into contract negotiation, development, and proposed changes in service delivery for health care programs, and determine potential implementation impact on the technical systems that support the programs.
  • Consult on projects and implement them by preparing timelines for software improvements, defining requirements, milestones, and dependencies, developing comprehensive test plans, and measuring expected results
  • Provide work direction to the Technical Rules Administrator

Is this right for you?

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Plan, prioritize, coordinate and monitor complex, concurrent activities and projects to continually meet deadlines in a changing environment
  • Taking the initiative and providing leadership, delegation and monitoring of work
  • Understand business requirements and technical information and communicate clearly with business and technical audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Apply project management techniques, including planning, analysis, implementation, monitoring and follow-up
  • Presentation of data using MS Excel and Word

Your background and experience

  • A degree in Business Administration or related field
  • A Minimum of three years From experience in business analysis, data analysis, or business intelligence, where you have created technical rules based on business requirements
  • Experience in healthcare is an asset
  • Experience in presenting data using MS Excel PowerPoint and Word
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and/or SQL is an asset
