Full/Associate/Assistant Professor of Law and Global Legal Studies at the University of Macau
The University of Macau (UM) is a comprehensive, internationally research-oriented public university in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) located on the west bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Faculty of Law (FLL) invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Adjunct Professor in the area of Global Legal Studies, with a particular focus on Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence.
The Faculty of Law of the University of Macau is the oldest law school in Macau and plays a very important role in preparing jurists who are familiar with the legal system of the Macau Special Administrative Region, as well as educating qualified jurists in legal research and practice in Macau law, international law and comparative law. Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctorate in law. Preference will be given to applicants who have an educational background from reputable overseas universities, extensive teaching experience in recognized international institutions and the ability to provide strong evidence of outstanding research achievements, supported by publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
The selected candidate is expected to take office in 2026.
The reward
Annual taxable remuneration starting from MOP 1,250,200 (approximately US$154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP 1,052,800 (approximately US$129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP 855,400 (approximately US$105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with successful academic qualifications. For applicants with relevant professional experience. The current maximum local income tax rate is 12% but actually ranges between 5% and 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
