We are currently looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate and postdoctoral researcher to join our team on an NSF-funded project focused on the computational and experimental study of interactions between engineered nanoparticles and biomolecules in the biological environment.

Postdoctoral researcher (one open)

Start date: January 2026

Job duties (post-doctoral):

The postdoctoral researcher will conduct cell culture experiments, study cell proliferation, protein synthesis, and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis via electron microscopy. Conducting a literature survey in the field of biomaterials, writing review articles and publishing research in internationally reputable journals.

Education and/or experience (post-doctoral):

Ph.D. A BS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field that has been completed within the past five years or will be completed soon is required.

Qualification requirements (post-doctoral):

Previous experience in one or more of the following technical areas: nanomaterials, cell culture and characterization, fluorescence microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and proteomics.

PhD student (one open)

Start date: January 2026

Job duties (PhD):

The PhD candidate will develop and run fluid dynamics and multiphysics simulations; Building and analyzing models of interactions between nanoparticles and biological fluids; Assist in interpreting results and preparing technical reports and presentations

Education and/or experience (PhD):
• Background in computer science, biomedical and mechanical engineering
Engineering, or physics

Qualification requirements (PhD):

• Experience using modeling or simulation software (e.g., FEniCS, COMSOL, ANSYS, or equivalent).
• Experience in writing C++ code to implement physics equations in simulation
Frameworks
• Interest in nanotechnology, biotransport phenomena, and computational biomechanics
