Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) is looking for a Tree Planting Assistant to join our dynamic and effective Conservation and Engagement team.

location: Pitcairn Centre, Moidart Drive, Glenrothes, KY7 6ET

salary: £25,885.80 – £28,175.91

hours: Full time, 36 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed term until March 31, 2026

About the role:

To support community tree planting across Fife and contribute to Fife’s climate forest outcomes. The Tree Planting Assistant will work with the Community Tree Planting Officer and report to the Fife Climate Forestry Community Engagement Manager. The post holder will be part of the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) Conservation and Engagement (C&E) team. The post holder will work closely with other partner agencies including Fife Council, third sector organisations, community groups and volunteers.

About you:

We are looking for an organized and confident individual to join our team. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

• Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject (eg Rural Management). Time served experience in a relevant position will also be taken into consideration.
• Practical experience in rural or land management, including tree planting and tree care.
• Ability to work with a wide range of people to achieve desired results.
• Organizational skills and confidence to take initiative as required.
• Proactive attitude and hard work.
• Adaptable and motivational team worker.
• Experience supporting events in a community setting and with a variety of groups.
• Ability to travel and work from various locations throughout Fife independently.
• Good verbal communication skills with a friendly and approachable style.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Responsible and confident.
• Good level of communication skills, both verbal and written.
• IT skills (embracing technology and information), specific to Microsoft’s product suite and online conferencing platforms.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Driving license
