Student Recruitment Officer at TEDI London

Thank you for your interest in working at TEDI-LONDON

Founded by three of the world’s best institutions – Arizona State University, King’s College London, and UNSW Sydney – and operating with the agility of startups, we Different by design.

Here on our vibrant, accessible campus at Canada Water, we’ve found a new way to create engineers. We throw everything we have into it.

From day one, students collaborate on real projects with real companies and organizations. By the time they leave, they will have worked with a network of partners from the public and private sectors, and are fluent in the language of the industry.

A million miles away from lecture halls, thousands of strange questions away from rote learning and end-of-unit tests, we are finding new ways of teaching, through a project-based curriculum mapped to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

TEDI-London is a test of the creativity of a new generation of designers and engineers. In alliance with our founding universities, our organization is already changing and preparing for global growth to meet global challenges.

To do this, we need people. We need people, regardless of their role, who are willing to push boundaries, fight for the best ideas and design creative solutions for everyone.

We are TEDI-London. Are you ready to join us?

Why do we need Teddy London?

With a global shortage of engineers, attracting more people to the profession is crucial – especially women and people from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to ensure equitable design solutions.

In the UK alone, it is estimated that an additional 50,000 engineers are needed annually to respond to the global challenges of the 21st century.

Research with employers and advocacy groups suggests that an interdisciplinary learning environment is needed to respond to the demand for engineers with a broader range of entrepreneurial, design, and technology skills.

The TEDI-London curriculum develops skills in communication, entrepreneurship and project management through unique project-based and blended teaching methods, across a range of engineering disciplines.

By making things in project teams throughout their programme, our graduates will be able to take on practical, complex and interdisciplinary challenges.

Industry partners help identify and collaborate on projects and provide expertise and mentoring to ensure TEDI-London students get real-world experience in commercial and commercial realities.

Our vision

We transform engineering education to transform lives – for the good of people, planet and prosperity.

Our mission

We exist to revolutionize engineering education. We bring engineering education and skills to more people, regardless of their background, and help them build a better world for everyone.

About the role

As part of our student recruitment and engagement strategies, we are committed to offering a variety of events on and off campus to inspire the next generation of engineers. Including school and college visits, on-campus open days, taster and demo days, and online programs such as Thinking Ahead, TEDI-London’s outreach program should stand out in a crowded market.

The premise of this role is to deliver and continually help develop these activities and encourage young people – especially from hard-to-reach backgrounds in our local communities – to design, build, repair and explore engineering through hands-on approaches. These activities will also highlight TEDI-London’s unique programs and, ultimately, encourage applications for the degree programme.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Lee Rowland, Director of Student Recruitment, Admissions and Communications: lee.rowland@tedi-london.ac.uk.
