Senior Lecturer or Senior Teaching Fellow in Clinical Pharmacy at Liverpool John Morris University

Liverpool John Morris University (LJMU) is a distinctive and unique institution, with roots in the Liverpool city region and a global presence. Our students and employees, past, present and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t be anywhere else and we made the city our own. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the core of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences is at the forefront of higher education in pharmacy as well as the pharmaceutical, biomedical, forensic, cosmetic and chemical sciences. The school has excellent working relationships with industry, regulatory bodies and the NHS and was recently awarded a Bronze Athena Swan Award.

We have recently refurbished our clinical teaching suites and built a new 6-bed hospital ward to expand our clinical teaching facilities, and we look forward to growing our team accordingly. We are looking for a highly professional, enthusiastic and committed individual to join us. Our MPharm program recently achieved full 6-year GPhC accreditation, receiving excellent scores in the National Student Survey. We are looking for GPhC registered pharmacists (or other UK registered healthcare professionals with experience in clinical practice) who ideally have experience of clinical simulation and/or combined professional education.

You will hold a degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy or a relevant clinical specialty and ideally an independent prescriber qualification. You will also have significant teaching experience in areas related to clinical pharmacy, within the MPharm and independent postgraduate prescribing programme. Experience in developing, delivering and evaluating activities related to experiential learning as well as supervising pharmacy students on placements would be advantageous.

You will be expected to make significant contributions to the Master of Pharmacy program and pharmacy-related graduate programs, as well as other undergraduate and graduate programs appropriate to your expertise. You will also be expected to actively participate in the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in relation to your area of expertise.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the University as we deliver on LJMU’s 2030 strategy and vision for LJMU as a comprehensive civic university that transforms lives and futures, by putting students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and that your skills and experience can make a real difference at Liverpool John Moores University, then we look forward to hearing from you.
