Salary upon appointment will be £31,236 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increase of up to £37,694 per annum (pro rata).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate to join the School of Psychology to conduct studies on word learning in infants and young children.
As a co-investigator, you will contribute to the research programme, collecting data, analyzing and interpreting data, writing up results and providing information on the progress and results of the research.

You will have a postgraduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in psychology, linguistics or equivalent discipline and be able to work in a proactive and results-driven manner in a high-paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyze and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly related to this research area and previous research experience will be advantageous.
This part-time (0.7 FTE) position is available from 7 January 2026 on a fixed-term basis until 30 September 2028.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced level criminal record check of the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a barred children list check. It is an offense to apply for this role if you are prevented from taking part in organized activity relevant to children.
