Research Assistant (755743) at the University of Strathclyde
To assist in the delivery of research activities as part of a team, working within an established CBTi research program under the general supervision of senior colleagues. Specifically, you will work closely with a professor of clinical sleep research to co-develop a sleep intervention that emphasizes neural variation for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
Full time: 0.4 (14 hours/week)

The Department of Psychological Sciences and Health is looking to appoint a part-time Research Assistant (Year 6) to work on a project funded by the Center for Research into Autism in Education at Strathclyde. The overall goal of the project is to co-develop and improve sleep interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through a program of stakeholder-directed workshops. As a Research Assistant, you will lead this project, supported by colleagues from the Strathclyde Sleep Centre, and you will also be expected to contribute more generally to the research and teaching agenda of the Strathclyde Sleep Centre.
To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in psychology. You will have knowledge and experience conducting independent or supervised research work in psychology, be able to plan and prioritize your workload, and be able to work within a team environment. You will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to listen and engage with a range of different professional/community groups and present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences. Most importantly, you will have experience in qualitative data collection and analysis and a working knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi).
