This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Reading’s award-winning Careers Center as a Project Manager (Careers) leading our Thrive mentoring program and the Reading Experience and Development (RED) Awards.
Our Thrive mentoring program helps students connect with an industry professional, encouraging support, collaboration and mentoring at a key stage of their university experience, while the RED Awards are the University of Reading’s official skills awards and are available to all students to help them make the most of the extracurricular activities and experiences available outside the scope of their degrees.
You will contribute to providing a transformative student experience, developing and managing programs that support our students to engage in professional and personal development opportunities, enabling them to articulate their achievements and secure career success.
You will work collaboratively with the broader functions team and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
You will have:
- Demonstrable skills in communicating with key internal stakeholders and building relationships with professionals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including relationship building and diplomacy
- Experience analyzing metrics to improve future work
- Good understanding of national trends in vocational projects including support for students with special needs such as disabilities and underrepresented groups
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to set priorities, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
