Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing (0.53FTE fixed term until 1 September 2026) at Harper Adams University
salary: Grade 9/10, £39,906-£50,523 Proportionatelyannually. (Entry point will depend on relevant qualifications and experience)
The post holder will be primarily involved in the delivery of the Advanced Veterinary Nursing course within the department, covering topics in veterinary pain management and veterinary anesthesia. The holder of this position will also be involved, to a lesser extent, in other allied undergraduate and postgraduate units of study within the University. The appointee will be based within the Department of AHBW (Department of Veterinary Nursing) and will work in collaboration with co-workers within Harper Adams University and the Harper & Keele Veterinary School.
Main duties will include;
- Contribute to teaching, evaluation, administration, and curriculum content development.
- Participate in organizing, supervising, and evaluating research projects for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Marking and comments on students’ coursework, exams and processes.
- Participate in and develop knowledge sharing and outreach activity, which will include weekend work (e.g. open days, public engagement events);
- Participate in and develop the research activity of the department, particularly in the field of veterinary nursing (pedagogy, natural and social science research) up to a standard suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals;
- Such other duties as requested by the direct manager or department head are appropriate to the position and salary range for the grade.
You must have significant post-registration experience in veterinary practice in the UK, and must either be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a university degree wow RCVS Advanced Veterinary Nursing Qualification or Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS).
Evidence of further study would be helpful, for example holding a relevant postgraduate qualification.
This role can be worked remotely up to four days per week, consistent with an in-person teaching schedule
