About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and motivated individual to join our dynamic Chemistry Department as a Lecturer in Chemistry, with research interests aligned with our thematic priorities in Organic Chemistry. This position is offered on the Education and Research track, with a primary focus on research excellence.

Focus on research

The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s internationally recognized research in chemistry, especially in areas of high strength Industrial importance and societal impact. We welcome applicants with experience in one or more of the following key areas:

  • Organic synthesis with industrial applicationsincluding the development of polymers and specialty chemicals.
  • Functional organic materials and Organic mineral Chemistry, relevant to electronics, packaging, automotive and advanced manufacturing.
  • Green and sustainable chemistryincluding catalysis, renewable feedstocks, solvent alternatives, and low-waste synthetic methodologies.

Teaching and supervision

In addition to research, the successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will contribute to curriculum development, student engagement, and the department’s commitment to comprehensive and innovative education.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and lead an independent and internationally competitive research program in Organic chemistryfocusing on Polymer synthesis wow Design of functional organic materials.
  • Securing external research funding from national and international sources, and actively engaging with Industry partners.
  • Boost Multidisciplinary collaboration Within the department and across the university.
  • Thank you Teaching is engaging and innovative in organic synthesis and related fields across undergraduate and graduate programmes.
  • Supervision Doctoral students and master’s researchersContributing to developing and enhancing curricula.
  • Student support Academic advancement and career development Through guidance and guidance.
  • Contribute to Departmental managementStrategic planning and awareness activities.
