The College of Medicine will open in September 2026, and is grounded in the founding vision of social accountability where human values, excellence and social purpose are the guiding principles of the new college. The curriculum is based on our partner, the University of Lancashire, and is divided into Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and Stage 2 (Years 3-5).

This is a career-defining opportunity to be part of this pioneering new medical school. We are looking for a forward-thinking, experienced educational leader in secondary care with significant experience in all aspects of higher education and pedagogical design to join the new school.

The Lead for Clinical Medicine and Phase 2 of the MBBS will act as the Lead for Phase 2 (Years 3-5) and will oversee the management and delivery of clinical medicine over the five years of the MBBS program in accordance with graduate GMC and MLA results and university and potential partner requirements.

The role requires the post holder to work closely with the School of Medicine (SoM) leadership team, and the Head of Phase 1 to ensure continuity and alignment of the two phases of the MBBS programme. The post holder will also benefit from extensive experience conducting research, scholarship, projects, engagement, teaching, leadership and management within the SoM.

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician with extensive experience of UK medical education and the associated governance and quality assurance of a university medical programme. They will have leadership skills gained through their previous roles, and we expect the post holder to be medically qualified, clinically active and registered with the GMC with a full license to practice.
