About the role

Location: We are a fully remote team, and although we are hiring almost globally, there is a preference for this role to be based in Europe or remotely +/- 4 hours CEST

Position: Full-time contractor

We are looking for an enthusiastic back-end engineer to support the deployment of the CoW protocol on new blockchain networks, troubleshoot and debug issues, support on-call rotations, and contribute to our engineering backlog. This role provides a unique opportunity to grow within the position and become a highly skilled Rust Engineer in a production level Web3 environment.

This is very suitable if you are someone early in your career who is passionate about learning Rust, solving complex problems and taking initiative

What will you do?

• Help deploy and maintain the CoW protocol across new and existing blockchain networks
• Investigate issues and debug in production environments
• Participate in on-call rotation (with additional compensation)
• Contribute to engineering backlog and assist in feature development
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and gradually take more ownership of Rust-based services

Who are you

• Recently graduated or have around 3 years of backend experience
• Hands-on experience with Rust, either through personal projects, open source contributions, or commercial work
• Strong understanding of blockchain and Web3 – you are familiar with the space and its core concepts and have prior experience through work, projects, hackathons or contributions
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• A proactive mindset, you take initiative and figure things out
• Comfortable remote working in a highly autonomous and asynchronous environment
