We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic technical professional to join our support team as an IT Service Delivery Specialist. This role provides support to both the National Institute for Health Research Coordination Center (NIHR CC) and the wider School of Healthcare, Enterprise and Innovation (HEI).

Who are we?

HEI is home to research-focused companies that address key issues in healthcare and hosts part of the NIHR CC. The National Institution for Human Rights funds, enables and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people’s health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.

This role falls within the Applications Support team responsible for the digital programs and services that support the work of NIHR CC and also provides wider support to the HEI School. What will you do?

You will play a key role in supporting our digital operations resources, in particular our research grant application system used by NIHR CC and HEI. You will provide front-line technical support, maintain and test application functionality, and contribute to continuous improvement. Play a key role in our service delivery team, ensuring our digital platforms run smoothly and meet users’ needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with our users and third-party vendors to design and document solutions to facilitate the provision of research grant activities. This will include analysing, testing, configuring and maintaining applications to support these research activities.
  • Providing frontline support, managing incidents for resolution or referral while maintaining detailed records of incidents in our support systems.
  • Work with colleagues to provide innovative solutions that support our research goals.
  • Ensure that our services are user-focused, reliable and compatible with evolving research needs.

The successful candidate will be able to manage their own workload under pressure and will be able to adapt to evolving processes and priorities.

It may also be helpful to have experience using the following technologies/tools:

  • Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Complete product life cycle development
  • Workflow-led development
  • HTML
  • Software testing disciplines and practices
  • Third party sharing/management
