CNN is looking for a Senior Producer to join our explainer team, creating visually compelling, deeply presented videos that help audiences understand the news and the world around them. This role is ideal for creative storytellers with a strong editorial vision, exceptional writing and production skills, and a proven ability to manage projects from concept to publication.

Your role responsibilities…
• Oversee the production of editorial planning and execution of explainer videos across topics such as politics, world affairs, science, technology and culture.
• Lead and guide producers throughout the storytelling process – from pitch to final delivery – script uploads, edits and visual storytelling.
• Direct collaboration with reporters, editors, designers, and animation teams to produce impactful, visually rich explainers.
• Shaping the editorial voice and visual approach of explainers, ensuring clarity, accuracy and audience engagement across platforms.
• Balancing multiple projects and deadlines with alignment with broader strategic goals.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Provide training and feedback to junior staff, promoting growth in story development, scripting, and production techniques.
• Use audience insights and performance data to inform content strategy and improve engagement and reach.
• Drive innovation, and explore emerging storytelling techniques, tools and trends to keep CNN’s explainers ahead of the competition

Qualifications and experience…
• 8+ years of digital video journalism experience in a newsroom environment.
• Demonstrated success in creating high-performing explainer videos or visual journalism (examples required).
• Strong editorial judgment and news instincts, with the ability to explain complex topics accurately and creatively.
• Exceptional writing, programming and editing skills with an emphasis on clarity and narrative structure.
• Hands-on experience in producing, directing and supervising video shoots and post-production workflows.
• Proficiency in digital video tools (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar) and familiarity with motion graphics and data visualization.
• Strong organizational skills and experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for innovation in visual journalism and a deep understanding of the CNN brand and audience.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of the total employee compensation package offered by Warner Bros. Discovery. Pay Range: $91,000.00 – $169,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. Additionally, Warner Bros.
