Ursuline Academy, an independent Catholic school dedicated to educating young women in grades 7-12, is seeking a relationship-based, senior director of engagement, leadership, strategic giving, and relationship-based leadership to join our advancement team. This is a senior-level opportunity for a mission-aligned professional with experience in foundational engagement, alumni relations, and annual giving, ideally within an educational setting. About the role

The Senior Director of Engagement and Scholarship Leadership reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and plays a central role in developing and implementing strategies that strengthen community relations and drive philanthropic support. In collaboration with a dynamic team, this position will shape and lead efforts that deepen engagement across constituencies and support a strong annual giving program. The Senior Director will also manage a pool of leads and donors at the leadership level, contributing directly to the fundraising success of the school.

What will you do:

  • Provide strategic leadership for engagement and annual giving initiatives to support the school’s broader progress and campaign goals
  • Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Engagement to design programs and volunteer opportunities that foster meaningful and lasting connections with Ursuline alumni
  • Partner with the Director of Annual Giving to implement an integrated annual giving strategy, including targeted appeals, giving days and volunteer outreach.
  • Work with the Director of Special Events and Community Engagement to create inclusive, mission-focused events that foster enthusiasm and support among all constituents.
  • Manage a portfolio of leadership prospects, with a focus on discovering, cultivating, soliciting and overseeing five- and six-figure gifts.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, promoting collaboration, accountability, and a results-oriented and mission-oriented culture.
  • Perform other related duties in support of the development office and school goals as needed

What to bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • – Professional experience of not less than five years in the field of advancement or development, with preference for experience in the field of education
  • Proven success in annual giving, alumni relations, and foundation involvement
  • Experience managing and soliciting prospects at the leadership and donor levels
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, team-focused management style
  • Ability to use data to inform strategy and measure results
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
