As the organization’s chief technologist, this person will be an important partner to the engineering lead while also being a mentor and advisor to the engineering teams. They are responsible for driving the strategic technology direction of the organization, helping stakeholders build roadmaps and directing priorities to achieve various objectives. This role reports to the Head of Engineering.

What will you do?

• Leading the construction of our technology vision. He realizes that this does not happen in a vacuum and works CollaborativelyWith leadership, senior engineers and others across the organization to build and achieve this vision.
• The Head of Engineering will rely on this individual to play important roles in all aspects of the organization including: technology, product formation, and organizational design.
• Displays technology and organizational needs throughout the engineering organization.
• Understands when and how to decentralize decision making to empower teams.
• Can achieve significant results on the roadmap by effectively influencing other leaders in the organization.
• Guides conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration among team members.
• Serves as an escalation point for complex and thorny technical issues.
• Mentor, lead and manage a small but strong group of senior engineers

What you bring to Reify Health

• You have experience being a senior technologist supporting an organization of up to 200 engineers.
• You are an empathetic leader who understands that the evolution of technology is as much about people as it is about technology.
• You understand how to bring about change in a rapidly evolving organization.
• You are able to make decisions, sometimes difficult, that are consistent with business success.
• Expert-level experience in SaaS-based products, distributed systems, event-driven systems, and security.
• It will help in attracting the best talent to the organization.
• You will help build a strong technical brand for the Reify Health engineering team.
• Although this is not required, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in our technology stack. (Clojure, React, Postgres, Kafka)
