Job Title: EHR Solutions Engineer – PACS and 3rd Party Applications (Remote Qualified) Department: IT Caregiving Applications Job Description: This position can be performed remotely from the following locations within the USA: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The EHR Solutions Architect III is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and improvement of electronic health record systems within OU Health. This expert-level role involves leading high-impact, high-visibility projects that relate directly to our strategic initiatives, providing advanced technical leadership and serving as a true subject matter expert for the Care Delivery Solutions team to ensure EHR solutions align with the organization’s long-term goals and comply with healthcare regulations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise to ensure electronic health record systems are scalable, reliable and secure. EHR Solutions Architect III creates comprehensive architectural blueprints, ensures compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, leads the deployment of EHR solutions, and ensures seamless data flow and interoperability. Extensive electronic health record experience as well as related integrated equipment will be required to successfully develop solutions to meet the high complexity of organizational unit health needs. This includes, but is not limited to, knowledge of radiological, laboratory and/or other medical instrumentation, printing methodologies, devices and technological devices. The EHR Solutions Architect III collaborates with senior executives in Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) and Operations to ensure alignment on our epic roadmap. For our system initiatives at the highest level. Essential Responsibilities The responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Develop long-term strategies for electronic health records system architecture and implementation. Align electronic health record initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Provide high-level leadership and vision for electronic health records projects, driving innovation and continuous improvement. Provide expert-level designs and recommendations for large-scale, large-scale solutions and projects where the scope includes electronic health records, other software, hardware, medical devices, and other technologies. Lead EHR implementation of large-scale improvement efforts from start to finish. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage schedules, resources and budgets. Design and optimize complex electronic health record systems to achieve scalability, reliability, and performance. Continuously evaluate and improve the system architecture to meet evolving healthcare needs. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and system specifications. Collaborate with senior management, clinical leaders, ETS teams, and external vendors to gather requirements and align to goals. Ensure clear communication and effective collaboration between all stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure successful delivery of EHR solutions. Mentor and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of innovation and best practices. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for complex issues. Promote professional growth and development within the technical team. Stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in electronic health record technology and healthcare IT. Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in electronic health records systems and processes. General Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Required Experience Requirements: 5 or more years of applied experience in the IT or healthcare field is required. Multiplayer epic execution experience preferred. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Epic certification or third-party application certification is required in select regions. Multiple Epic certifications or other application certifications preferred. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Expert understanding of electronic health record (EHR) systems, healthcare workflow, and clinical operations. Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills. Strong proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Strong understanding of agile development practices. Expert knowledge of healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use. Ability to prioritize competing requirements and make data-driven decisions.
