Protocol Sales Manager at The Tie

Role overview
We seek a Protocol Sales Manager To help build business relationships with leading token issuers, institutions and ecosystems. This role revolves around assisting with protocols They tell their story to organizations that use the data And then Communicate directly with investors through corporate access.
You will be responsible for cross-selling to enterprise access, data integration/IR dashboards, labs, and conference sponsorship. Success means building a pipeline, developing deep relationships with protocol leadership, and closing deals that help protocols refine their corporate go-to-market strategy — whether that’s TVL growth, building credibility with distributors, or navigating tokenization trends.
This role reports directly to Senior Vice President of Sales Which is key to scaling The Tie’s protocol-facing business.
Key responsibilities
- Sales leadership and pipeline: Source, potential and close business via corporate access, dashboards, labs and sponsorships.
- Institutional narrative: Utility protocols translate on-chain metrics, growth, and adoption into narratives that resonate with different types of institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers, venture firms, trading platforms).
- Protocol Partnerships: Act as a trusted business partner to the organization’s leadership teams and ecosystem.
- Cross-functional implementation: Collaborate with marketing, product and events teams to ensure smooth delivery and long-term client success.
- Market knowledge: Stay ahead of institutional crypto trends (tokenization, liquidity, staking, and governance) and position The Tie as an essential bridge between protocols and allocators.
- Representation of the event: Representing The Tie at industry events and hosting live interactions between protocols and organizations.
requirements
- 6-10+ years in sales, partnerships, or business development, preferably with experience in both Original crypto teams (protocols, exchanges and data providers) and Institutional financing (Asset managers, hedge funds, venture capital firms, trading companies).
- A deep understanding of how different types of institutional customers value protocols – and how protocols can improve go-to-market with each.
- Strong ability to prospect, present and conclude complex commercial agreements with protocol leadership.
- Demonstrate knowledge of token economics, liquidity, and institutional crypto market structure.
- Strong relationship builder with credibility across both local and corporate audiences.
- An entrepreneurial self-starter with a passion for digital assets and data.
