Why Mozilla?

Mozilla is a nonprofit technology company that has shaped the Internet for the better over the past 25 years. We make leading brands like Firefox, the privacy-conscious web browser, and Pocket, a service for keeping up with the best content online. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products every month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to restore an Internet that’s built for people, not businesses. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security, and more. We do this without ever losing focus on our core mission – making the Internet better for people.

Mozilla is wholly owned by the 501(c) non-profit Mozilla Foundation. This means that we are not beholden to any of our contributors, but only to our mission. Together with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators around the world, Mozillians craft, build, and distribute open source software that enables people to enjoy the Internet on their terms.
