The University of Northampton is looking for an NMC Registered Midwife with clinical and teaching experience to join our enthusiastic team and contribute to the delivery of education and research as a member of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery. The full-time permanent position will include teaching and assessment for our pre-registration program and supporting our students pastorally and during placement.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UO and our students, as well as you as an individual. With Smarter Working, you can work more flexibly, if you wish, facilitating greater freedom and independence in agreement with your line manager. However, the expectation is a commitment to be on-site teaching face-to-face at least 3 days per week on campus.

About you

You will have experience in midwifery education and midwifery. You will join a team that is committed to your professional development and supports you as a teacher. You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, educated to bachelor’s level with evidence of active continuing professional development.

Qualifications

necessary;

  • University qualification or equivalent in the relevant subject
  • NMC registered midwife
  • Professional recognition as an HEA Fellow (D2) or HESA recognized teaching qualification, or willingness to obtain it within an agreed timetable.

  • Master’s degree in related subject
  • PhD in a relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
