As part of the Mandatory Reliability Standards Assurance team within the Office of General Counsel and Compliance, you will play a central role in translating regulatory expectations into practical, organization-wide actions. You will work across teams to strengthen internal controls, support audits and investigations, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This role blends governance, assurance, stakeholder education and organizational engagement. Your experience will shape how cybersecurity compliance is understood, implemented and sustained across BC Hydro – through strategic direction rather than hands-on system configuration or direct team management.

**What we are looking for:

* Experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity governance, especially NERC CIP or similar frameworks

* Strategic thinker and collaborative consultant who thrives in cross-functional and organizationally engaged environments

* A clear communicator who can simplify complex standards and build trust between diverse teams

* A leader with the ability to guide others, influence outcomes, and achieve results in complex environments

What will you do?

* Interpret CIP standards and advise business units on risks, controls and compliance expectations

* Represent BC Hydro in communications with WECC and other regulatory bodies; Build strong relationships with peer facilities to stay aligned with regulatory oversight trends

* Monitor emerging standards to impact, lead internal reviews and coordinate responses

* Provide training and mentoring to enhance organizational understanding and readiness

* Identify opportunities to enhance governance, oversight and assurance practices

* Conduct assurance activities including compliance assessments, control reviews/tests and contribute to strategic planning and implementation of mitigation activities.

* Utilize technical knowledge and controls experience to evaluate compliance narratives, evidence and internal controls. Recommending improvements to practices and tools

* Review and approve evidence and documents. Prepare reports and analyze trends for leadership

* Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align technical practices with regulatory requirements

* Participate in incident investigations, contribute compliance expertise, and make final compliance decisions.

* Prepare and assist in the formation of regulatory files, including standards adoption evaluations and incident reporting

Qualifications:

* University degree in a relevant field – or equivalent experience in compliance with mandatory reliability standards

* 10+ years in the electric utility industry, with high-level cybersecurity and/or compliance experience

* A thoughtful approach to compliance that balances technical vision with strategic vision

* Experience translating complex requirements into practical, implementable guidance

* A mindset grounded in curiosity, integrity, and adaptability

* Familiarity with industrial control systems including SCADA and other operational technologies used in the energy sector (an asset)

* Registered professional engineer or certifications such as CISSP, CISA or CISM (an asset)

* Experience in governance frameworks such as NERC CIP, ISO, NIST, COSO or COBIT (an asset)

* Ability to obtain a security clearance to classify sensitive security positions

**We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences, and if you are passionate about cybersecurity compliance and eager to make an impact, we encourage you to apply.**
