The best way to achieve success in this role is to prioritize investment in ministry leaders. The Campus Worship Pastor is responsible for creating an environment that attracts, develops, and empowers leaders who advance ministry programs in worship ministry and the creative arts through:

Worship format:

• To be responsible for leading the Upward West Henderson campus worship ministry to an ever-increasing level of engagement and excellence in worship.
• In coordination with the Weekend Services Director, organize a praise and worship team at all services.
• In coordination with the Director of Weekend Services, organize weekly practices of praise and worship singers and musicians.
• To oversee the setup and breakdown of the worship experience on the Upward West Henderson campus.

• Ensure supervision of the maintenance of all musical instruments.
• In coordination with the Weekend Ministries Director, organize and maintain the church music library.
• Prioritize the development of team leaders and worship leaders. This includes training platform leaders and weekend hosts.
• In coordination with the Weekend Services Manager, create and lead the planning, preparation, and implementation of excellent, strategically aligned weekend services. This includes partnering with the service planning team in planning the message thread and overseeing the planning and debriefing processes.
• To meet monthly with the Worship/Arts team to disciple, plan, troubleshoot, strategize, and deliver vision on behalf of the Worship and Arts Ministry.
• In coordination with the Weekend Services Manager, prepare the service request each week in conjunction with the Service Planning Team
• In coordination with the Weekend Services Director, plan and implement services focusing on Christmas and Easter each year.
• Prioritize bringing new people into the worship ministry.
• To assist in ensuring guidance and direction for ministry and ministry leaders in both rising students and rising children regarding ministry worship, technology, and creative elements.
• In coordination with the Director of Weekend Services, help coordinate additional services held on campus including worship nights, seasonal events, funerals, etc. as needed.
• To address any conflict or drama in the spirit of Matthew 18 and honor the value of real relationships.

Production team coordination:

• In coordination with the Weekend Services Manager, prioritize the development of team leaders in all areas. This includes training production teams behind the scenes.
• In coordination with the Weekend Services Manager, direct the technical team to ensure excellence in all services.
• To stay informed of new software/equipment developments and implement them in coordination with the Weekend Services Manager.
• To assist with computer work and repairs associated with the control cabin.
• To secure estimates for improvements related to technical equipment.
• – Maintenance of all equipment associated with the technical department. All repairs must be made in a timely manner to ensure continued excellence.

As a member of the church staff:

• Implement the lead pastor’s vision and lead the emerging Christian fellowship.
• Establish and maintain good relationships within the church body.
• Set quarterly and annual goals in conjunction with the Weekend Services Manager.
• Submit an annual budget to the Weekend Services Manager.
• Keep expenses within budget each year.
• Maintain a regular work schedule; Monday to Thursday from 8:30 to 4:00 every day.
• Be available by phone to the leader and/or executive pastor at all times during business hours and service times.
• Be available to assist with funerals and weddings as requested by the leader and/or executive pastor.
• Attend regular individual development meetings with the Weekend Services Manager.
• Develop and maintain metrics reports, where possible, regarding volunteer participation and engagement. Reports must be submitted monthly to the Executive Pastor.
• Attend staff planning/prayer meetings.
• Assist with telephone support as requested by the Weekend Services Manager.
• Be available before and after services and on special occasions to connect with the congregation.
• Report directly to the Weekend Services Manager.
• Attend church executive board meetings as requested. (inability to vote)
• Participate in greater community/denominational service as time permits, but only if it does not detract from primary responsibilities.
• Consult with Weekend Services Director on all plans and policies.
• Submit documentation of all purchases to the Business Manager
• Cooperate fully and work harmoniously with all employees for the good of the church.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Weekend Services Manager.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Education: BA/BA degree preferred.
• A strategic and creative leader with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated by personal relationships, commitment to the church, personal work ethic, compassion, and heart for lost people.
• Demonstrates excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Effective team builder with innate people skills.
• Proven ability to design effective, relevant, excellent, and purposeful weekend services that effectively help Rising Christian Fellowship accomplish its mission.
• Working knowledge and experience using the following software and applications would be beneficial; Planning Center, Prime (Loop Community), Abelton, Presenter, Vista Chroma Q Lighting Software, and Canva.
